What is Pen Review?
Pen Review features evaluations, reviews and comments on a variety of pens and other writing instruments. From expensive collector items to standard office supply mechanical pencils, you'll find reviews and comments on all types of fountain pens, ballpoints, gels and roller balls. Users are also invited to leave comments and ratings on writing instruments. Users who have shown themselves to be proficient writers and reviewers are promoted to full review status and can add full reviews to the site for other users to comment on.

Why has my review/comment not been posted?

All reviews and comments are held for moderation and are usually approved within a few hours. Also, keep in mind that duplicate reviews of pens already reviewed will not be posted so please do a search for the pen you want to review before you get started to see if it has already been reviewed. The mission of Pen Review is to provide helpful information to pen buyers and aficionados. A comment or review that simply says, "This is the best ever," accompanied by perfect 10 ratings in each number category isn't helpful to our site's visitors and won't be approved. Be specific and tell the community why you feel a pen deserves the ratings you have given it, and what makes the pen different from others you have used. The more specific and helpful the review, the more likely it will be posted for the public to see and the more likely you'll earn points.

How do the points work?

Pen Review users receive points for every review (5 points) and comment (1 point) they post that is approved and made public on the site. As users accumulate points, members have the opportunity to win prizes such as pens and writing accessories.

What if I see a mistake made by another member?

If you see a mistake in a review (for example, a pen listed as having .7mm option when no such option exists), please contact us. Valid mistakes that are pointed out to us and are corrected by the Pen Review staff can earn you extra points!

For pen manufacturers and dealers: Can I use a quote from a Pen Review review in my advertising?
