Reviewer Comments:
The Pelikano is an inexpensive “school” pen. It is a smooth, wet writer and a perfect “first” fountain pen. Pelikanos do not have the screw in nib of the “M” series pens and only come with three nibs; F, M, and a special nib for left handed writers. The stainless steel nibs are generously tipped. The Pelikano bodies and clips are transparent plastic and come in blue, green, orange, or red with a metal cap. The pen accepts either long or short international cartridges, so cartridges users are not limited to Pelikan cartridges. Of course, the converter allows the pen to fill from bottled ink, giving the writer an almost unlimited choice of inks and colors. The Pelikano is light and well balanced. It is very comfortable to write with unposted. I enjoy the Pelikano and keep a couple in my drawer to give as gifts when young visitors show an interest in fountain pens. The plastic clip on the metal cap scares me, as I am sure the clip will snap off at some point. That has not happened yet. The Pelikano is a good, cheap pen that I highly recommend, even if the nib choices are few.
Stainless steel nib in F, M, and left Hand. Capped length, 5 1/4"; posted, 6"; girth, 7/8". Cartridge / converter fill.
