Reviewer Comments:
The uni-ball 207 is a lightweight pen with a more stylish clip than you might expect on an inexpensive office pen. It writes smoothly, although the gel takes a few seconds to dry on paper and will smudge if you try to write on a line above the line you have just written and make contact with the ink.
Uni-ball is promoting the fact that the 207 series helps prevent "check washing" because the pigmented ink actually impregnates the paper rather than staining the paper as traditional ink does. Because it does not stain the paper, it is more difficult to use any bleaching or washing technique to remove the ink from paper. In fact, the pen is endorsed by the Frank W. Abagnale Secure Document Consultant company - the company founded by the reformed character portrayed in the movie "Catch Me If You Can."
Overall we found this pen to write smooth, dark lines at varying levels of writing pressure. However, it does deliver an amount of ink that can be a bit much if you are writing detailed and small text.
