This is one of the best pens I've ever used. Beautifully smooth writing, even on low quality paper.
Feels good in your hand and the grip material extends all the way up, which is nice for writing.
It is a bit difficult to twirl the pen between your fingers if that's your habit, and the silver coating on the very tip sometimes flakes off, exposing the plastic. This generally happens only after hard use or abuse, but these minor details are a single bad drop in a lake of otherwise wonderful performance.
Again, this is the best roller pen I have ever used. After I tried it the first time I went back to the store and bought half a dozen more.
I've always wanted to have a good pen, and when someone told me that the parker was the "perfect pen" i've immediately bought this one.
It's surely good looking and it's easy to handle, but the ink is not so fluid and it has too much grip.
I've had one of these in my room for who knows how long and it still works great. It looks very basic but it works without having to scribble to get the ink flow started. They're affordable at under $1/pen and they are very long lasting. They also make an ecologically friendly version called the "ECOlutions" but cost slightly more and have a clear barrel instead of the standard white barrel.
I like this pen but it seems like the ink flow is different from pen to pen. Some flow very smooth....some you have "pull" along. When I get one with good flow, I try to keep it in pocket!!
Nothing fancy when it comes to looks, but the pen writes like a charm, dries so quickly it's hard to smear, and drops in a dark, bold black. Beautifully smooth and sharp without feathering, and the needle point is incredibly accurate and steady. Ink flow is precise and perfect, even for quick writing.
One of the major drawbacks of liquid ink rollerballs, like the Precise V5 is that it will not write effectively over white out (found that out in the fifth grade...)
Also, being an Extra Fine pen, the tips are fairly fragile, and I have experienced moments where the tip will fall out on its own.
Its looks and design don't really earn a ten in my mind, as the design is fairly crude for ease of manufacturing.
The smoothness really depends on the paper you use. On poorer grade paper, the point WILL go through if you apply enough pressure.
And even though it IS an extra fine pen, because of its liquid ink, the line it puts down is usually the same thickness as a medium ball point, if not just a tad thinner.
